If you're looking to wow a hungry man with a messy, delicious meal, look no further than these Sloppy Joes. Packed with beef, slathered in BBQ sauce, and sandwiched between two fluffy onion brioche buns, this recipe is not to be missed.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 medium onions, diced
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
2 cups tomato sauce
2 large celery stalks, diced
2 green bell peppers, dice
8 cloves of garlic, minced
4 tbsp light brown sugar
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. tomato paste
salt & pepper to taste
4 sandwich rolls, split (can use onion brioche or Italian rolls)
smoked cheddar cheese
2 medium onions, diced
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
2 cups tomato sauce
2 large celery stalks, diced
2 green bell peppers, dice
8 cloves of garlic, minced
4 tbsp light brown sugar
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. tomato paste
salt & pepper to taste
4 sandwich rolls, split (can use onion brioche or Italian rolls)
smoked cheddar cheese
Directions:
In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil has heated up, add the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Saute until they start to soften and the onions get translucent (2 minutes). Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the ground beef and brown small pieces for about 2-3 minutes. Add the brown sugar, tomato paste, onion powder, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
Add the tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until sauce has thickened. While the sauce is simmering, toast the buns. Once your sloppy mix is thick enough, take off the heat. Spoon the mix onto the buns and top with cheddar cheese.
